WWE 2k25 is Pretty Damn Awesome
I've been enjoying the latest WWE sports entertainment video game, WWE 2k25. I haven't played a wrestling game in years, so it's interesting to see how it's all evolved from the days of Play Station 1 and Smackdown 2. I've played a few of the games over the years since, but never in depth or for as long as I did in those days of The Rock and Stone-Cold Steve Austin. My friend and I would craft storylines back in those days with pen and paper all throughout the school week and then during the weekend we'd spend the weekend at each other's houses, enacting the storylines in the create an event mode in Smackdown 2.
Now, all of that stuff is in the video game, you don't need to use all of your imagination, just some of it as you can set up rivalries and run the entire show. Every single event. The entire WWE universe is at your fingertips in Sandbox mode, and it is awesome. You can create characters and have them join the roster; you can have old timers fight new schoolers. It's a game that combines so many different eras of WWE into one giant package that at first is an extremely daunting task. This game has like 6 different game modes, and then on top of that, you've got all the match types you could want from Cage and Casket to Royal Rumble and 8-Man Tornado Tag. It's all here.
I've already tried my hand at creating my favorite Ninja Turtle Michelangelo. He will be debuting on NXT this week during my Live Stream on twitch tomorrow: twitch.tv/coldkoala
I stream about 6-7 days a week, mostly at nights. It's a beginner's stream, so lots of hiccups, but it's a lot of fun smoking weed, playing video games, and chilling on the internet.
If you're a fan of the WWE, then WWE 2k25 is where it's at and they've already advertised it to you enough. If you're not a fan of the WWE, I'd suggest still trying this game if you enjoy fighting games/strategy-fighting games. You have to have quick reflexes to nail counter maneuvers, and every match has a star rating. You're trying to score a 5-star match, so the match has to be dramatic, moves have to be varied, and in some modes, they'll give you specific challenges to meet in the match.
